The Optical Solutions Group at Synopsys, formerly Optical Research Associates (ORA®), sponsors the Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Student Travel Grant as part of the Optica (formerly OSA) Foundation, whose mission includes supporting programs that advance optics education and provide career and professional development resources.

The Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Student Travel Grant offers financial support to help defray the cost of student travel to optics conferences and professional meetings. The grant was established in honor of Bob Hilbert (1941-2008), former ORA President and CEO, who was a respected member of the optics community and enthusiastically embraced learning and optics education.
